Nutrition Rehabilitation Centre (NRC)
The hospital has a Nutrition Rehabilitation Center (NRC) to reduce under 5 mortality due to Severe Acute Malnutrition.
The Nutrition Rehabilitation Centre (NRC) is a section of a health institution where children with Severe Acute Malnutrition (SAM) aged one month to five years are hospitalised and treated. Children are accepted based on predetermined criteria and receive medical and nutritional therapy care. In addition to curative treatment, a strong emphasis is placed on providing children with timely, adequate, and appropriate nutrition, as well as increasing the abilities of mothers and caregivers in providing comprehensive age-appropriate care and feeding practices. In addition, efforts are undertaken to strengthen the capacity of mothers/caregivers to recognize nutrition and health concerns in their children through coaching and assistance.
